| Bio: | I was born in 1982 (making me 25 years old). I grew up in Gainesville, FL, I went to Uni in North Carolina, and now I'm back to FL in Miami, getting an MD/PhD from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Yay doctorates and discovering things! I am a general lurker on the internets, and while I do post on occasion, I'm mostly just a silent watcher from the corners (not in a creepy way though!).
I use this journal primarily for its friends-list. I love fandom and I wish I could be more involved in it, but my life is oh-so-hectic lately, so I hardly ever post in the journal myself. Unless it's about RL. So if you're not interested in my RL, you can friend me anyway because I post so rarely. ;) And I always LJ-cut. Whee!
Also, I like animal (especially birds), nature, the sunshine, going out. Reading. That's a big one. I read all the time, entirely too much. Also I'm too curious and sympathetic.
I love Harry Potter (books over movies) and Lord of the Rings (movies over books), and as such, these two are my primary "fandoms". Overall, I read and obsess over lots of other fantasy/sci-fi/horror, including (but not limited to) authors GRRM, Stephen King, Orson Scott Card, Robin Hobb, Jack McDevitt, Dan Simmons (Hyperion Cantos is my favorite), etc. I also like anime: I love Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Fullmetal Alchemist, and several others.
As far as TV goes, Star Trek: The Next Generation is my favorite show of all time. Lately, however, I've also been known to lurk around TWoP and I watch lots of the shows they cover there.
